Set up your sandwich station
Make sure you keep everything near, grab two plates, peanut butter, your bread, and bananas. Keep a butter knife, a small knife, and a cutting board around. If you keep things around, the whole cooking process will be quick, clean, and easy. Toast the bread (optional, but so good)
If you want a warm sandwich, make sure you toast all 4 slices of bread until they are lightly golden. If you have no toaster, take a dry skillet and warm it to medium, and toast each slice for about 30-45 seconds per side. Slice the bananas
After peeling the bananas, slice them into thin coins. Slicing them thin is important because it makes sure the sandwich doesn't slide around. But if you have an extra ripe banana, then slice it a little thicker. Otherwise, they can get mushy. Spread the peanut butter
Lay the toasted or plain bread on plates and spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on two slices. Make sure you butter them all the way to the edges. A nice and even layer is the secret to the best peanut butter and banana sandwich recipe. Build the sandwiches
Now, divide the banana slices in half and put them in two buttered bread slices. Make the layer single and even row, only make a second layer if you get extra banana slices. You can drizzle a tiny bit of honey if you want to add some extra sweetness. Close, slice, and serve
Top with the remaining bread slices. Press gently and serve right away to enjoy the warmth.
